lomo-mania

lomography camera's are prettttty old but theyve made a comeback lately and i'm glad they did!
I bought myself a lomo fisheye last year when i was taking a photography elective at uni. i didnt REALLY need it for the class but i always wanted one and that was a good excuse.

yesterday they held an opening for a lomography exhibition in Hong Kong's times square and ofcourse had a giant camera that had a trampoline in it (because why wouldn't you want to jump in a giant camera?)
you can watch a video of the opening here:

These are some of the photos ive taken with my lomography camera I purchased (shown in the above picture)
they're definitely not the best pictures i was just trying it out and experimenting

I recently also downloaded this app on my ipod that automatically turns your photo into a lomo one, whether you want a fish eye lens or just the colour manipulated
they turned out pretty cool except for the quality of the picture itself due to the poor ipod camera quality
here are some examples of that:

Spring/Summer 2011 Ad Campaigns

I'm loving the SS2011 Ads this year so i picked a few to post here
The new YSL spring/summer 2011 campaign video is just brilliant! i love the clothes, cinematography, music, everything.
Tod's is just a lovely short film titled "An Italian moment" which I absolutely loved, Prada's ad is colourful and fun, H&M might be less glamourous among these labels but I can't help but miss it since it's not available here in Australia. I love how the video is funny and quirky. The last video is one of the French Connection SS2011 ads; I picked my favourite one of the series.

Dreaming of Italy.

I am currently taking an italian beginner's elective at uni due to my obsession with that country's natural landscape, culture and architecture.
While doing my italian compito (homework) i googled some images of places in italy that i absolutely have to visit as soon as i can. And so should you!

Rome: The Trevi Fountain, The Colosseum, Sant'Andrea Della Valle

Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano)

   Cinque Terre (The five Lands)
 and ofcourse Venice!

procrastination always wins

So here I am sitting amongst my italian books and autoCAD opened with my unfinished floor plans and i can't decide which to work on. So naturally i decide to do none and go online looking for places I'd like to visit when I go to Canada this july.
I was really excited to find Frank Gehry's AGO (art gallry of ontario) and surprised it is his only work in ontario considering he was born in Toronto.

This is a north-west digitalised view of the building ( i couldnt get a good photo off the internet, but hopefully when i visit it i could click some)

The interiors are just amazing. love the sculptural staircase and maze-like passageway

This is my favourite part of the building. I absolutely love the wooden beams and the glass, theres something about it that is so inspiring and beautiful.

This video clearly illustrates the gallery's contents and the building itslef. ENJOY!

The design is remarkable and very different from the likes of the Walt Disney concert hall in LA which displays his style of deconstructivism.
