Seven Autumn Leaves at Mister Mode night market

So the reason I have been a bit M.I.A lately is:
A. I started my masters about 4 weeks ago, as I've mentioned before, and it's way more work than ever thought it would be.
B. I have been working on my laser cut jewellery line which will be available online next month.
Exciting! But I have a lot more work ahead of me before the online store is set up so bare with me kind readers; I promise to keep you all posted.

I decided to participate in Tish's Mister Mode market because it is such a great idea to have a night market with entertainment, food and drinks. It is just a great atmosphere and experience; the time flew by so fast!

I wanted to sell a lot of my second hand stuff (well not really second hand since 90% of them still had their tags on!) I've realized I actually do have a serious impulse shopping problem. On top of that, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to introduce my new line to the public and fellow bloggers who were attending the event. I was so ecstatic by the amazing support I got from the lovely bloggers who each purchased a piece and were truly excited and happy for me. I can't even put to words how much that made my day!

Mister Mode market

Hi everyone! Firstly I'd like to appologize that I've been absent the past few days but I have been so busy with my first semester doing masters AND I'm also working on my laser cut jewellery line which I'm excited to share with you all.
If you live in Melbourne, come by to the mister mode market this Saturday and have a sneak peak of what I've been working on. And it will be cheaper than it will when the online store is launched in September so don't miss out!
It is going to be a great day, there's a band and cafe and LOTS of stalls to look at.
Don't forget to say you're there to see me (Sevan) at the door. Hope to see you all there!

In-vested

Vest: Sass & Bide / Top: Mango / Skirt: Glassons / Belt: E-bay / Shoes: Zara

Lately I've been trying to take risks with my personal style and trying to do things differently. I would never pair this ensemble together usually, but I just took a gamble and tried them on and actually liked it. I keep trying to remind myself that fashion is supposed to be a fun escape from everyday life. And if in a few months or years I look back and have a "what was I thinking?!" moment, then I know I had fun wearing it at the time.

Faces of Caulfield

This Saturday, we had the pleasure of covering the selection of this year's Face of Caulfield’s 6 finalists at Chadstone - the fashion capital. On arrival, we were instantly transformed into the spring racing festival mindset with the gorgeous flowers and bright yellow stage in front of David Jones.
Hosted by the gorgeous former miss universe contestant Jesinta Campbell with the help of the beautiful Brie Laughlin who were both dressed in Calvin Klein and styled by Philip Boon.
The judging panel consisted of Fiona Twist, Effie Young, Emily Powell and Richard Nylon, who showcased some of his favourite millenary pieces for this season and gave the audience some valuable advice.
Chadstone shoppers were in for a treat, listening to style tips and advice from the judges and stylish contestants.
The judges had an extremely hard task judging the competition based on style and personality but eventually 3 handsome men were picked out of the final 10 and 3 beautiful ladies from the top 20.
All 30 finalists received a generous gift bag from Chadstone and sponsors. Most of the winners were dressed in labels offered at Chadstone like Witchery, Country Road, Nine West.
Men’s finalists Mathew Cohen, Evan Spargo, and Stefan Liberto.
Women’s finalists Kate Hopkins, Hetty Kate, and Kelly Bannister.
It was also great meeting some of my lovely fellow Chadstone bloggers Lisa Hamilton (See Want Shop), Taela Jade (tlajde and lolandeve), Hayley Mehmet (Kalina's Rainbow), and Kate Sorenson (Sorenson Dash)

Choosing the perfect maxi dress

The catwalks have been showcasing a variety of pretty prints as well as an assortment of floral styles in dresses and one piece of attire that appears to be utilising these trends most are maxi dresses. This versatile item is a must-have for any wardrobe, and appears to get more and more popular each year.

Whether you opt for eye-catching prints or solid colours, both styles are guaranteed to turn a few heads and each hue works with an assortment of accessories.

From Day to Night

Long necklaces and chunky bracelets are a great way to dress up an otherwise simple look and these pieces allow you to alter your style with relative ease. Wear your new maxi with statement shades, a sun hat and flip-flops during the day and dress it up with heels and more elaborate jewellery to transition into evening attire.

Plain versus Pattern

As well as the many prints and eye-popping hues, this year’s summer trends have also been leaning towards feminine and romantic styles. Pastels, floral patterns and ruffles make up the key elements of this trend and have played a huge part in this season’s fashion shows.

When deciding whether to invest in a plain or patterned dress, consider where you are likely to wear it and make sure it is suitable for the occasion. Pair a plain dress with a patterned shawl or bag and vice versa to create a sophisticated and stunning look.

 Match Your Body

One must-follow rule when it comes to choosing a floor-length maxi dress is to invest in a style that cinches in at the waist. You can also use a belt to achieve this look.

Don’t wear anything overly intricate; this will only distract from the rest of the dress. Instead, select a belt or tie in a plain hue, picking out an accent from the dress if possible.

If you’re expecting then a maxi dress is a great option as it can conceal early signs of a baby bump. In fact, the flowing fabrics will hide any lumps and bumps that you wish to cover up.

The material will also be loosely fitted, meaning that you will be kept cool and relaxed at all times. Maxi dresses will also protect your delicate skin from being sunburnt if you are looking for some protection from the suns rays. Pair this outfit with flat, comfortable shoes which fasten securely around the ankle for extra stability.

Zara media preview

Ever since Zara arrived in Australia in April of 2011, Melbournians have fallen in love with this Spanish retailer. Yesterday, the wait was finally over for Chadstone goers as Zara launched its second store in Melbourne, the fourth in Australia, at the fashion capital.
At 8:30am we were kindly greeted by some of the PR members and a coffee station with some yummy treats. We then went on to have a tour of each collection in the entire store, which was very informative and interesting.
The media preview was very organized and the store looked absolutely amazing with lots of free space for Zara’s many customers to roam freely. The spacious layout came in handy when they opened the doors to the public at 9:30.
I fell in love with so many of the pieces but had to fight temptation as I was going to class right after. There were a few pieces that were actually exclusive to Chadstone’s new store so go get your picks before they’re all gone!

The collections featured many of the popular trends like pastels, prints, neons and studs, as well as classic pieces like blazers, coats and dresses.

It was a pleasure spending the morning with the lovely bloggers Jess (What would karl do), Cecylia (Cecylia), Connie (K is for Kani), and Alice from (Catwalk of words).

Shopping Sunday: ASOS BLACK

I immediately fell in love with these dresses in the ASOS collection called ASOS BLACK. I love the prints and the use of the black straps in most of them to establish a shape for the dresses. My absolute favourite is the first one, SO tempted to buy it.

Peplum and leather

Peplum has been very popular this season with so many colours and prints available in stores and online. I find the best way to wear peplum tops are either with pants or pencil skirts. I bought this peplum top months ago, it was one of the first ones offered on asos and now there are SO many of them on the site. I can see why this trend really took off, it is very flattering and can be worn as casual or formal attire.
