Alexander McQueen Pre-fall 2012

If you’ve read my previous article in the post “Alexander McQueen the Great” you’d already have a hint of how much I loved the late designer Alexander McQueen and his unique and brilliant approach to fashion design as an art form.

In the new pre-fall 2012 collection, I just love the originality, the sophistication and the presence of Victorian romance that Sarah Burton has successfully preserved from the late designers’ brand vision.

Facets of Fuchsia

 

I recently bought this Revlon nailpolish called 'Facets of Fuchsia' which is a mix of black nailpolish and purple glitter.

It's really gorgeous but you have to do at least 2 coats so the black doesnt look transparent.

The clumsy girl that I am, I forgot to close the lid after using it and then when I came to pick it up it spilled all over my floor and now the bottle is almost empty! 

It still has enough for one more use in it though.

What do you guys think of it?

Sparkly new purchases

I popped by Steve Madden in Dubai Mall the other day and bought these 3 lovely sparkly black pieces.

My suitcase is slowly expanding with shoes! I'll post a photo soon of all my shoe purchases from the last few weeks.

Everybody loves a bargain

Booties: H&M; Leggings and Coat: H&M; Blouse: Glassons

These are my favourite black booties at the moment; as seen in the previous post

I got them from H&M a few weeks ago for only 50 Dirhams! which is about 13.50 Australian dollars.

I also bought those leather leggings for only 5 Dirhams since it was the last piece (which is about a dollar and a half)  

And the black coat was 110 Dirhams (which equals to aus $29.70)

Aren't you guys proud of my bargain shopping skills?

This is a place I often come to in Sharjah, called Al Qasba, it's only 2 minutes away from my house. They have some good restaurants there, including one of my favourite sushi restaurants which I go to as soon as I come back home from Melbourne.

Alexander Wang pre-fall 2012

As always, Alexander Wang has some impeccable pieces with lots of different shades of blacks, whites and reds

and also using different materials like incorporating leather as details in his pieces or to compliment the rest of the outfit.

Beaching it in winter

I seriously love how you can go to the beach anytime of the year in this country, I used to take this for granted before moving to bi-polar Melbourne!

I live only 5 min away from the beach so I went twice already and I'm hoping to sneak in one more trip before heading back to Oz. 

I know what you're thinking: it's summer in Australia! True, through experience I found that Aussie tan doesn't last me long; it usually disappears in a month tops. I'm as white as snow white without a tan. Maybe it's just my skin, but the best tans I've had that had lasted me around 6 months were in Armenia, 2 and half years ago, and LA, 6 months ago (I still have LA left-over tan!) ...and Dubai comes at a close third

My little black dress

I love the details and repetition on this dress and it's so easy to wear it with anything. It's a perfect little black dress which is, for sure, a closet essential.

My family and my uncle's family have a tradition of going out for lunch together on the first day of the year, and this year was no different. We went to an Italian restaurant in one of the malls here in Dubai.
