NWFW S/S 2012

I watched a lot of the shows from NYFW this past week via youtube’s live streaming; I hope they do that every year, it’s a great idea.
The one thing I noticed that most shows had in common was colour, be it vibrant or pastels. Colourful and feminine patterns are still evident in this season with the likes of Luca Luca, Nicole Miller, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Tadashi Shoji, Vivienne Tam and even Vera Wang and Diane Von Furstenberg having so many colourful pieces.
Jill Stuart’s and J. Mendel’s collections also exhibited a lot of colour blocking that we saw last season in a lot of collections

My favourites collections from this season have got to be:

Hervé Léger by MaxAzria, had incredible designs that just created these amazing forms, and shaped the bodies of the models wonderfully (not that they need it but they created the illusion of amazing curves!)
Very chic warrior princess

Luca Luca was also very colourful and vibrant and was just filled with a lot of fun, pretty and feminine pieces. A lot of black and whites, blues and greens; overall very pure and spring

Badgley Mischka’s collection was also very colourful and vibrant with a lot of yellows and pinks, and beautiful patterns and materials. Also, they used a lot of amazing jewellery and accessories like the necklaces and shiny metal belts.

Zac Posen always classy, always elegant and beautiful, what’s there not to love?

Monique Lhuillier’s collection was full of amazing dresses and gowns, I especially loved her yellow dresses

J. Mendel’s collection had an amazing colour palette with black and whites, neutrals, and colour blocking pastels
