Blow drying basics with GHD

The one thing that hair straighteners can't achieve that well is volume. When you want your hair to be full and bouncy it's time to get the hairdryer and hairbrush out. I've created a picture guide of the basics of blow drying using my new GHD air. I've never really thought much about hair dryers but I'm seriously loving this particular one. It's quieter, stronger and so much quicker to get through my thick hair that usually takes at least an hour to dry with my old hairdryer.

1. Pat your hair dry with a towel and apply a heat protection spray.

2. Comb your hair to get rid of any tangled parts.

3. Quick dry your hair so that it's roughly half dry.

4. Tie back your hair and only leave out the front (fringe). Now wrap the section of your hair around the brush and move the hairdryer on top in a downwards position. Do this slowly to ensure the hair dries and repeat the same section at least twice. Always remember to face the tip of the hairdryer downwards to avoid getting fizzy flyaways.

5. 6. Start going through your whole hair in sections from the bottom until you reach back to your fringe. You may want to wrap the hair around the brush outwards or inwards depending on how you want your hair styled. I prefer to go inwards the first time and then outwards the second time.

7. Once you've made your way through all your hair, flip your hair upside down and go through them with your fingers to make sure it's tangle free.

8. 9. Now flip back, neaten it up and enjoy!

Daisy Rose

Once again I've managed to pull off a disappearing act as soon as end of semester submissions neared. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing me repeat the same excuse and say I'm sorry but the good news is, it was my last submissions EVER since I just successfully completed my masters degree! After 5 years of studying I can officially say I am done with the world of academia and I won't be forced into a blog hiatus for a while.

Now that you've forgiven me (since you're my favourite reader) let's move onto the post! I received this charming top and earrings from Rose, the owner of the online Daisy Rose boutique. This store has a few quirky pieces that you wouldn't normally find in your average online store which makes them quite unique.
