How to wear a summer dress in winter

I thought it would be a nice change to post an outfit post before I move onto Rome travel diaries to break it up a little. I took these photos a few days ago before we got the lovely sunshine back and I wanted to showcase my new Elliatt baby blue dress and my Asos heels and sunnies that I still hadn't gotten a chance of wearing yet. I decided to wear all bright colours for a change since my everyday attire consists of a lot of dark coloured coats/tops with jeans which I wear to uni. And it's always nice to be able to wear your summer dresses in winter by just adding a coat on!

Hope you're enjoying the warm weather we've been having recently. Have a great week! x

Geneve travel diary

After I visited Annecy, we continued driving towards Switzerland to visit Geneve for a few hours before returning back to Lyon. It was only about half an hour away so I highly recommend the trip if you're ever in Annecy or Lyon. I was only there for a little bit though so I didn't have much of a chance to discover the city but I still managed to capture a snippet of what this city had to offer.

Annecy travel diary

Annecy was by far the most picturesque place I have ever been to. This gorgeous French town is just below Mont Blanc and next to the Annecy river. We drove there from Lyon, on our way to Geneva, which was only about an hour and a half away. Even though I only spent a few hours there, I fell in love with its natural beauty and charm.

Lyon travel diary: Lyon at night

I've mentioned in an earlier post that this blog has quickly become more of a travel blog lately, but that's only because this blog is a reflection of my lifestyle and a diary of what I get up to. Now that I'm officially back at uni, unfortunately my life is back to boring. Silver lining though is that I finish my masters degree in December and I'm officially done with academic life, and fortunately I still have all those travel posts to share and some recent posts from Melbourne.

Back to the actual post, these are photos I took on my last night in Lyon after spending a week there. I took a stroll down to appreciate the architecture and the infrastructure of the city when it's all lit up and has less people around. I captured some night shots that I wanted to share with you all so I hope you like them!

Lyon travel diary: Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière

Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvièr is one the smallest Notre-Dame Basilicas I have been to over the years, but nevertheless it doesn’t fail to exhibit beautiful, intricate details in its interiors as well as its exteriors. It’s beautifully preserved and located on a hill that results in a gorgeous view of the city, which makes it a definite must see for anyone visiting Lyon.

Lyon travel diary: Tete D'or

Moving on from my quick two-day trip to Paris, I moved on to Lyon to spend a week with my cousin and her family, who I hadn't seen for almost seven years! Lyon was like a vacation from my vacation, I had nothing planned for a change and it was so great to just go with the flow and relax for a little while.

The last few photos are at Parc de la tete d'or where you can find a zoo, a playground, rose gardens, botanical gardens, a lake, statues and wide fields of grass, all within the largest urban park in France.

Paris travel diary: Galleries Lafayette

In the previous post I mentioned how I spent more time in Galleries Lafayette then anticipated because I just lost track of time and allowed myself to have a little shopping spree. Taking advantage of the fact that they had sales on I bought a pair of heels from Guess, two bracelets from Agatha, a Longchamp tote and a few presents. Then a few steps away, I went into Printemps and bought half a dozen macarons from Laduree. Overall a successful shopping trip to Haussmann, Paris!
