Shopping Sunday: Spring racing trends

With spring here it is definitely time to search for our spring racing outfits. This year it’s all about incorporating spring colours into your outfit. Key trends include pastels, such as yellow, lavender and pink. Besides pastel colours, white and cobalt blue are very trendy as well. Peplum is ofcourse still going strong and everyone has seemed to embrace it because it creates flattering silhouettes and gives the body a really nice shape. Prints are also huge with emphasis on floral prints, which I’m sure you’ve noticed by now.

When it comes to shopping for your spring racing outfit remember the ‘PPP’ Pastels, Peplums and Prints. If you incorporate any of the looks or colours mentioned above you are golden.

Shopbop offers an extensive variety of these trends and here are some of the pieces I have picked out to put together five outfits for you. Most of these are on sale so hurry up and snatch them before they're gone.

No coupons needed for Shopbop.com discounts. Shop 30% / 50% / 70% off now.

All you need now is your headpiece and you're all good to go!

Spring Trend: Cobalt

One of the key trends this spring is cobalt blue. It's a gorgeous shade of blue and I couldn't resist buying a pair of cobalt blue heels the other day. This pretty cobalt number is from the LA based store Sugarlips combining another of this season's trend, peplum.

I am also wearing one of my own designs from the Seven Autumn Leaves laser cut jewellery line. I have recently made a facebook page for it as well so would love it if you like it and support me!

Vogue runway show

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of attending the Vogue runway shows at Chadstone the fashion capital. Before the second show, which I was attending, we headed up to cafe bouche where the VIP Vogue party was being held. It was a great chance to catch up with so many familiar faces including the lovely Leeyong, Cecylia, Roxy, Van Anh, Taela, and Hayley. We also got to meet Michael Klim who was nice enough to take a photo with us.

The show featured many of this season's upcoming trends, from all the stores available at Chadstone. We were spoiled with variety starting from prints and pastels, to lace and florals.

I've uploaded a whole album on the fb page, so you can have a look at all the trends and beautiful pieces available at Chadstone, the fashion capital. Check them out HERE.

What I Wore: MSFW day 2

This is what I wore to Melbourne Spring Fashion Week's 2nd designer series runway show which I covered in the previous post.

As soon as I came across this Zara blazer I immediately fell in love but I couldn't justify buying it (I'm trying to cut down on impulse buys). But when I was deciding what to wear to the shows, I went back to Zara and snatched this baby up. The studded shoulder details, in my opinion, just transforms this blazer from boring to chic.

I also wore these Celine inspired topshop reflected heel sandals which I also wore at Fashionopolis, the fashion blogging conference back in May, which feature in one of my earlier outfit posts.

MSFW - Designer Series 1

And so fashion week is over and the chaos has died down a little and I finally have a minute to update the blog.

The first designer series was probably my favourite because it included so many of my favourite Australian labels like Ellery, Michael Lo Sordo, Maticevski, Gwendolynne and Aurelio Costarella. Attendees showed up in style and were treated to a great show at town hall.  I had a blast with my fellow Melbourne fashion bloggers, it was great catching up and seeing everyone's stunning outfits.

I uploaded most of the photos on the fb page so check it out HERE and here's a sneak peak of what's in the album:
