Happy taste buds in North America

so when you travel somewhere, sure you do a lot of shopping and visit attractions but you also do a lot of EATING!
I decided to share the best of North America food I had while I was there
enjoy my food diary!

when in canada, eat what canadians do...
And of course I had a lot of poutine, which is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds
and it is DELICIOUS
this place in old montreal had the best poutine, and its no surprise since poutine started in montreal

fast forward to new york at La Maison Du Chocolat, next to the NBC studio entrance at Rockefeller Center, where they had amazing macaroons. The pistachio was my favourite!

The meat-packing district in Manhattan is filled with amazing restaurants and stylish stores
this mexican joint had guacamole to DIE FOR (I mean it, I would probably kill someone for some Dos Caminos guacamole right now)

If you happen to be in New York around Central Park, you'd be crazy not to go to Sarabeth's for breakfast
I tried their pumpkin pancakes with sunflower seeds and I was surprised at how much I liked it

I had heard that the best pizza in all of New York was Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Brooklyn, so naturally I went to check it out.
there was a line outside and we had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated which only intrigued us even more
the pizza was indeed one of the best I've had because the bread was just amazing since they use a coal brick oven

Now we're off to LA
I personally found Venice Beach my favourite place in LA. It's just so interesting and there is just so much going on
and if you're passing by the venice beach shops you have to stop and give yourself a treat
and the treat is DEEP FRIED OREOS
now I had never heard of deep fried oreos beforehand and i was a little hesitant to try it but my friends assured me they were a must-have and boy am I glad I trusted their judgment!

The last thing I want to share with you is of course is my all time favourite dessert: the red velvet cake. now needless to say this is the devil's food it is amazing whether its a cake of cupcakes I just LOVE them
the ivy on Robertson Boulevard in LA, which is known for celebrity spotting (I wasn't so lucky coz i didnt't see any celebrities) had an amazing red velvet cake

Yummmmm

Free People

I recently came across a fashion label from Philadelphia called free people
The garments have that vintage/indie style which is very in at the moment and I just love their pieces. Good news is they ship internationally!
Check out their collection on their website:

back to reality

Aaaaand I’m back!
I apologize for my disappearance in the last month or so but I have been overseas, in North America to be specific, and i loved every minute of it!

My journey started in Canada and my first stop was Toronto and Waterloo
I met up with a lot of friends that I hadn’t seen for some time and it was great to catch up and spend time with them

Niagra Falls
African Lion Safari

Then I was off to Ottawa for a day; which happened to be Canada day and we got to be in the presence of the royal couple at parliament hill

From there I continued to Montreal where you feel like you just left Canada and went to Europe (maybe France to be exact because of all the French everywhere, even though I’ve never been to France)
The architecture was just breath-takingly beautiful and modest, and the food and people were great.

Old Montreal

Old Port

Then off to the US of A!
Landed in JFK and as soon as I got out I was excited to see the city I’ve always wanted to be a part of
When we got to Manhattan I was just amazed at the beautiful buildings and the vibe of the city. I knew I would love New York because I’ve always had a fascination with that city but I couldn’t imagine I would love it this much!

Central Park

Rockefeller Center Observatory

Empire State Building Observatory

And last but not least, LA in Californ-i-a

Venice Beach
